The sun high overhead, the gentle breeze that caused the tall grass to sway and the new pokeball securely fasened on Faye's hip - did it get any better? As Faye began walking through the slightly beaten beaten path on Route One she could hardly contain her excitement. She was finally starting her Pokemon journey and was eager to work with her new compainion, Charmander.
Just as that thought crossed her mind, she felt the slightest nudge against her hip. Faye giggled, then. It was her little egg. She let out the smallest giggle, how could she have forgotten? "Don't worry, hon. You're coming, too. She said aloud. If the little Pokemon within the egg could sense what she was feeling or thinking, surely it would be able to hear her.
Almost a heartbeat after Faye had spoken, the nudging stopped and Faye giggled again. Though it was still in its egg, the Pokemon already had personality!
With two content Pokemon, Faye walked bounced along the route, she took diligant note of her surroundings. Although Professor Cyprus had given her a map of the region, Faye hoped that she would never have to use it for she had been blessed with a strong sense of direction and good memory... and truth be told, disliked reading maps and asking for directions!
As her bright blue eyes took in her surroundings, Faye noticed a patch of tall grass move suspisiously. Her lips curved upward into a smile as Faye reached to her Pokepack and her fingers wrapped around the glassy smooth Pokeball.
"Come on out, Charmander!" She warmly while gently tossing the ball in the air.
A faint bright light escaped as the ball opened and a moment later, her little dragon friend appeared, sharing his trainer's smile.
"Char! Char!" He called happily and teetered over to stand by Faye's side.

The shroomish couldn't help but sigh as the small green pokemon basked in the bright sunlight. It wasn't abnormally bright but the sunlight was defiantly there. She sat behind a small patch of grass as she didn't want to be disturbed; she needed her moment of rest. The small pokemon blinked a couple times before she wiggled the small tuft that sat atop her head. She could hear someone coming but didn't dare move, she was not about to let her day or relaxation be spoiled by some trainer. It was only when the trainer was within sight of the small pokemon that she began to twitch slightly. She could see the trainer but she was sure the trainer hadn't noticed her yet. The perks of blending into the ground. The small pokemon couldn't help but hold it's breathe as it sat waiting for the girl to pass. It was only when she could feel the grass starting to tickle her did she start to laugh slightly. She couldn't help it. HEr hiding place was useless as the patch of grass instantly started to shake revealing where she was. She didn't wait another second, she saw a pokeball fly through the air and knew she had to move now. She stood from her grass and jumped out from behind it. a wild shroomish appeared!
The pokemon gave a small curtsey as it used CHARM. She knew it would weaken the other pokemon's strength as it wouldn't want to hurt her as much. The pokemon wasted no time as she already opened her mouth while she aimed at the Charmander. The shroomish used ABSORB! She knew it would rejuvenate her a little bit. They had no right to be disturbing her! tag: faye words: No idea notes: Sorry it is so brutal! |

Almost instantly after Faye and Charmander had passed the small patch of suspiciously moving grass, a wild Shroomish tumbled out of the grass. Stopping instantly in her tracks, the trainer turned around to face the small grass Pokemon who wore a look of extreme annoyance.
Before Faye had a chance to analyze the wild Pokemon's grumpy look and behavior, it gave an odd, seemingly uncharacteristic curtsy. Faye grumbled as she noticed the flame on Charmander's tail flicker slightly.
"Ughh. Charm." She groaned under her breath as she widened her stance and bend her knees, ready for this battle. Charmander stood a few feet in front of her, leaning forward in anticipation.
Just as the team prepared themselves, Shroomish wasted no time to attack. A fleet of small bright balls came racing toward Charmander.
There's no time to dodge. Faye thought to herself critically as she realized that it was too late to avoid the ABSORB attack.
Thinking quick on her feet, Faye came up with a 'Plan B'.
"Charmander, run straight into the attack towards Shroomish and use GROWL" Faye called out, her voice sure and in command.
Though Charmander did not turn around, he tilted his head in confusion as he stared at the attack coming toward him.
"Trust me!" Faye tried to reassure him mere moments before the ABSORB would strike.
With a small sigh Charmander nodded. Charging forward, Charmander met the attack head on and let out a small grunt. Yes, the Shroomish had drained a small amount of Charmander's fiesty energy, but the attack was not very effective and he continued his assault hardly phased.
Once the bright light had disappeared Charmander jumped up and just like Faye had ordered, he used GROWL, the low, rumbling coming from the small dragon's body actually sounded pretty menacing.
Wanting to keep Shroomish on its feet, Faye needed to act quickly. She hoped that Charmander's GROWL had nerved or intimidated the small grass Pokemon because she did not wait to see its reaction before deciding to use an offensive attack.
"Now use SCRATCH" Faye bellowed as Charmander was about to land his jump.
Nodding his head in acknowledgement, Charmander leap forward with his sharp claws extended. [/blockquote]

The shroomish was caught off guard as the charmander charged towards her. Feeling the small energy refill she cursed at herself for the attack wasn't effective against fire pokemon. That was pretty useless but the only offensive attack she knew which was going to be a problem! Upon hearing the charmander's growl she couldn't help but start to shake in her boots. The small trills that skimmed the ground started to shake as she was truly scared of the charmander who was still charging towards her. She did nothing but stand there as the pokemon landed in front of her and took a swipe at her.
She cried out in pain as she went flying to a different patch of grass with a loud thump. She gave a cold glare to the other pokemon before she got up on her small legs rather slowly. She took her time getting up but gave another small curtsy. She couldn't help but use Charm as it was taught to her by her parents. She thought trainers called it an egg move or something but she didn't care. She would charm that charmander to stop attacking her just like her parents who were pretty much untouchable when they used charm. She took a deep breathe before using Absorb once more. this time she needed that energy boost
notes: kind of random at some points but lets just overlook that!

Charmander's offensive attack seemed to hit directly on the mark as the little Shroomish went flying through the air and landed with a 'thump' in a different patch of grass. Faye heard the wild Pokemon let out a small yelp and the young trainer smiled - maybe she was starting to get the hang of this battling thing.
"Great job, CharChar!" She praised, using her pet name for Charmander, "Now it's not over yet... keep charging at her and using SCRATCH"
Again, Charmander nodded his head and quickly charged over to where the Shroomish was slowly, and rather angrily, got to her feet. Though this distain disappeared almost instantly when she curtsied for a second time. And again, the small flame on the end of Charmander's tail flickered. He seemed more affected by the charm attack this time than he was before because Charmander's speed became much, much slower.
Faye growled under her breath in mild frustration as she watched Charmander practically skid to a stop.
"Keep going!" Faye bellowed, causing her Pokemon to shoot his head up in attention. This calling out seemed to help Charmander stay on track.... even though he was still practically moving at Slopoke speed, he did follow through with the attack.
Needless to say, Faye already knew that the impact wouldn't be as effective as the one before it. It was simple physics, really... but Shroomish didn't give her time to focus on the science problem.
Small, bright spores erupted from the tuft atop Shroomish's head as another absorb attack came flying straight toward Charmander. At a closer distance now, the fire-pokemon did not have time to evade the attack and again, took the hit head on.
"You've got this Charmander! Faye encouraged as another small amount of energy was drained from her Pokemon. Sure, the attack wasn't super effective but the energy draining would quickly add up. Faye noticed sweat beginning to form on Charmander's brow and knew that this battle would have to be fast and furious. [/blockquote]
